As a result of imposter syndrome ✨

You know that kind of feeling that :

You have during the transition from tutorial to writing code on your own.

You can’t code without watching tutorial or following reading some document.

You are not good enough for the internship program you got into, feeling like you are lucky or because of google or stackoverflow?

Believe me you are not a lone we are all have been there one time or the other feeling like to quite.

According to Wikipedia(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impostor_syndrome#:~:text=Impostor%20syndrome%20(also%20known%20as,exposed%20as%20a%20%22fraud%22.) Impostor syndrome (also known as impostor phenomenon, impostorism, fraud syndrome or the impostor experience) is a psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their skills, talents or accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a "fraud".

Despite external evidence of their competence, those experiencing this phenomenon remain convinced that they are frauds, and do not deserve all they have achieved. Individuals with impostorism incorrectly attribute their success to luck,

or interpret it as a result of deceiving others into thinking they are more intelligent than they perceive themselves to be.

While early research focused on the prevalence among high-achieving women, impostor syndrome has been recognized to affect both men and women equally.

So how to deal abou it

1. Talk about it

Share how you are feeling with people in your field, if you have a mentor or colleague talk to them ask them how they deal with such situation.

If you are self-learning google is your friend, google how you feel don’t be surprise you wouldn’t be the first person to ask such question.

###2. Right the rules

We learn from mistakes and debugging make a developer.

Please ask question that’s why we have plenty stackoverflow user.

If you are working with the rule “I should know it all “ or “I will never ask question” I will advise you right your rule now. Believe me you will learn new languages, new frame work etc. so don’t be scared to ask for assistance

3. Change your mindset

Nobody is perfect, and it’s ok if you don’t get it right for the first try just know, that doesn’t mean you can't do without the tutorial.

keep on debugging and ask for help whenever you are stuck.

You have to be consciously aware of the situation or event that can put you in a state of imposter syndrome when you figure that out just say to yourself “I may not know all of the answers, but I am smart enough to figure them out.”

###4. Self-reward

Reward yourself, learn to celebrate your achievement if you manage to finish that 5hrs tutorial reward yourself.

If you finally debug that code after opening 10 tabs reward yourself appreciate the little you have achieved because we often go tough on oneself than we go on other.
